Maluka Estate
Pinot Noir 2019
Description
This wine was whole bunch pressed and fermented in new French oak with 25% whole bunches. It exhibits bright red fruits, juicy acidity providing vibrancy and length, food friendly tannins and is underpinned by toasty oak.
Our pinot noir is produced solely from the Abel, or gumboot, clone, made famous in the Ata Rangi region of New Zealand, and originally smuggled into New Zealand in a gumboot, and reputed to be sourced directly from the famous Domaine de la Romanee-Conti, in Burgundy. This clone is renowned for producing intensely flavoured wines with great colour, silky fine tannins and length of palate. Although our vine are young, these properties are already evident in our pinot noir.
